Portfolio Sites

March 29, 2010

In an effort to get my name out there into a crowded design world I have posted my work to a few portfolio sites. There are a lot of resources available and I found that these few have a lot to offer. Here some of the ones I have been using in case you find yourself looking for full time or freelance work.

Creative Hotlist - I have found a few leads from this site. I can post my resume, cover letter and links to my site and examples of my work on the web. Although you have to pay for it, they will also post examples of your work and a/or a PDF for potential clients and employers to download. Job Seekers can search by location and title.

Coroflot - This site is relatively new, at least it is to me. For no cost you get a profile page, portfolio examples and a resume. You automatically get you site featured on the front page your fist day and users can follow your work, mark it as liked and send you messages. There is also an employer directory available so you can do some research.

Krop - Very popular with the industry. Basic free service includes a resume, profile and a limited number of portfolio images. Might be worth paying the $9.99 to add more portfolio projects. This site gets a lot of eyes on it.

Behance Network - Another very popular site. You have to email them a request to add you to the network. I do not know what their criteria is, but I heard back from them the next day. You get a resume, a profile and unlimited number of projects and images. This site is more like a social media site where you friend people and have little circles or friends. The networking aspect of this site is great, you never know who you are talking to.

I will post more as I find them. Happy Hunting!
